Type locality: Belem , Pará, Brazil
Type host: armadillo ( Neumann 1899)
Current status: generally considered to be a synonym of Amblyomma auricularium , but Guglielmone et al. (2021) believe that this synonymy should be reexamined.
Comments: the type host is named Dasypus sp. in Keirans & Hillyard (2001).
