Note.

Phillipe Geny (1809–1875) settled in Nice in 1833 as inspector of plantations in that city. He was a close correspondent of Antoine Risso (1777–1845), providing all the rather inadequate illustrations for Risso’s “ Flore de Nice ” ( Risso 1844), including a barely recognisable one of Anemone hortensis (as A. stellata ), but curiously did not provide any illustration of Risso’s new species, A. regina Risso.
