Aphanocephalus sauteri John, 1971: 139 . [nec Aphanocephalus pubescens sauteri John, 1956a ]

Remarks. Both junior and senior homonyms were Taiwanese taxa. John (1956a) described Aphanocephalus pubescens sauteri based on 4 specimens housed in Senckenberg Deutsches Entomologisches Institut, while John (1971) described “ Aphanocephalus sauteri ” based on holotype and 4 paratypes housed in Museum für Naturkunde Berlin. The former taxon was described as a forma, but it should be treated as a subspecies (ICZN).
