Type locality: Shonla , Vietnam, but corrected to Africa in Kolonin (2003)
Type host: Python molorus bivittatus
Current status: a synonym of Africaniella orlovi and its original name, as discussed in Hornok et al. (2020), who also established the current status of Aponomma orlovi .
Comments : this tick was originally treated as found in Vietnam ( Oriental Zoogeographic Region), but this was reassessed by Kolonin (2003), who concluded that the type locality is an undetermined locality in Africa ( Afrotropical Zoogeographic Region) .
