Type:—not designated and no specimens cited. Neotype [designated by Glassman (1972: 20) as “type”, here corrected]:—Illustration in Barbosa Rodrigues (1903b: Tab. 79C) .

= Astrocaryum tucuma .

Notes:— Barbosa Rodrigues (1888) did not designate a type or provide any other original material in the Astrocaryum princeps var. vitellinum protologue. In this case, Glassman (1972) typified the illustration ( Fig. 7 View FIGURE 7 ) of this variety in Barbosa Rodrigues (1903b) . Here, we acknowledge this illustration as a neotype.
