Material examined. Holotype, ♂: Prov. del Sara, Bolivia, 450m., J. Steinbach / C.M., Acc. 4549 / Nov 1909 / TYPE / CMNH HOLOTYPE #824, Thamnotettix lobatus Osborn 1923 / Thamnotettix lobatus Osb. n.sp. H.O. Holotype, ♂: Prov. del Sara, Bol. Steinbach, C.M. Acc. 5064. / Feb, 1913 / Eutettix mimicus nsp TYPE / Tubulanus .

Notes. Among the CMNH specimens in the loan found at USNM was the type specimen of Eutettix mimicus Osborn, 1924 from Bolivia. Linnavuori (1959) did not observe the type, listed the species as incertae sedis within his broad circumscription of Euscelini , repeated the description of Osborn (1924), and made no further comment on the species. After observing the type specimen in this study and determining it belongs in Atanus , a search of the literature revealed that the genitalia structures closely resembled those of Atanus lobatus (Osborn) which were partially illustrated by Linnavuori & DeLong (1977, Figs. 44–47). The type of Thamnotettix lobatus Osborn, 1923 was provided on loan from CMNH for comparison, and the two Osborn species were determined to be synonyms. Both types are illustrated here.
