Material examined. Holotype, ♀: Chapada , Brazil, Acc. No. 2966 / CMNH Holotype #801, Eutettix tessellatus [ sic] Osborn / Eutettix tesselatus nsp. Osb. / Atanus tessellatus [ sic] (Osb.), K. Zanol det 1986.

Notes. This species is known only from female specimens from the type locality in Brazil: Mato Grosso State, Chapada dos Guimarães, and from Trinidad: Port of Spain. The habitus and sternite VII are illustrated here for the first time. Further work to identify male specimens that could be associated with females is needed to clarify the identity of this species. The female holotype specimen, borrowed from CMNH for this study, is illustrated here.
