Published records. Mexico: Chiapas, Colima, Guerrero ( Hinton, 1971, 1972; Santiago-Fragoso & Spangler 2000). Hinton (1971) reported the species from Colima and Guerrero a year before the species original description was published. Santiago-Fragoso & Spangler (2000) reported the state of Chiapas without details of the specific locality(ies), and no specimens of this species were found at the CNIN, to which Santiago-Fragoso was associated while working at UNAM.

Type locality. Río Acapulquillo near Acapulco, Guerrero, Mexico .

Distribution. This species is known to occur only in Mexico. The three known specific localities from Colima and Guerrero, all below 500 m. a.s.l., are respectively in the central and southern parts of the country ( Fig. 8 View FIGURE 8 ), in the western Pacific Lowlands biogeographic province.
