Bagous pyrrhocnemus Gyllenhal 1836
Bagous pyrrhocnemus Gyllenhal 1836: 540 , in Schonherr (1836). [ Type locality: Calcutta , West Bengal, India]
Sri Lankan records. O’Brien & Askevold (1995: 93 —Colombo, Kotte).
Distribution. Bangladesh, West Bengal, South India, Sri Lanka.
Biological Note. This species has been collected in large numbers on the leaves of Nymphoides indicum , its presumed breeding host. The association with Ottalia alismoides is probably adventitious ( O’Brien & Askevold, 1995).
