Type host: cattle

Current status: a name incertae sedis ( Guglielmone & Nava 2014).

Comments: Minning (1934) stated that the holotype was deposited in the ZMB, but no specimen of Boophilus rotundiscutatus was included in the list of ZMB types by Moritz & Fischer (1981).
