Distribution. Otway Basin: Grange Burn Formation (type). Age : early Pliocene.

Remarks. Cotton and Weeding (1940: 442) implied that R. macdonaldensis , R. duodeni and R. octocostatus could prove to be synonyms when further material became available, in which case R. maconaldensis had page priority. The types of the latter two are incomplete.
