Description. Measurements of holotype (in mm). Head width—0.57; width between anterior pronotal angles— 0.7; pronotum maximum width—1.5; pronotum median length—0.63; pronotum maximum length—0.7; width across elytra—1.85; maximum length of elytron—1.58; sutural length of elytron—1.35. Body slightly elongate oval, dorsally convex, cuticle smooth and shiny, rufous. Head. Frons and clypeus smooth. Frontal stria complete, well impressed, carinate supraorbitally, extended onto clypeus. Labrum apically emarginate. Mandibles smooth. Eyes convex. Scape robust, curved, striolate with a group of long, thick setae dorso-basally and a few shorter setae dorsomedially. Pedicel short. Antennomeres 3–9 becoming gradually wider, club wide, slightly flattened, densely setose.

Thorax. Pronotum with a complete marginal stria and with a punctuated medial area—punctures separated by 1–4 times their diameter, denser in the middle. Lateral areas of pronotum with much smaller and sparser punctation, almost smooth. Elytral epipleuron shiny with two irregular longitudinal keels. Elytral surface smooth. Elytra with a marginal sulcus with 7 shallow, round depressions. Dorsal stria 1 present basally, reaches about ½ elytral length. Dorsal stria 2–3 complete. Stria 4 connected with a complete sutural stria. Stria 5 reaches ¾ elytral length. Striae

3–5 and sutural stria crenulate and widened, almost appearing as doubled along most of their lengths. Prosternum smooth, prosternal lobe wide with a complete marginal stria and with a thin basal suture. Carinal prosternal striae merged apically. Basal prosternal margin sharply emarginate. Mesoventrite anteriorly cuspidate. Complete marginal stria angled anteriorly. Meso-metaventral suture wide and crenulate. Metaventrite smooth with thick and complete inner metasternal striae. Outer lateral metaventral stria short and straight, almost parallel to the inner one, reaching less than half its length. Short fragment of postmesocoxal stria present, sharply bent posteriorly in half of its length. Metaventrite basally with a row of large punctures. Abdomen. First abdominal ventrite depressed anteriorly, with a band of punctures diminishing in size posteriorly, present in anterior ⅓. Remaining surface smooth. Lateral striae straight, directed slightly mediad. Postmetacoxal striae parallel to the lateral ones but only half their length. Propygidium with punctures in anterior half, diminishing in size posteriorly. Remaining surface smooth. Pygidium almost smooth with very sparse tiny pores. Legs. Profemur flattened with keeled margins, smooth with microscopic punctures. Protibia dilated, with a row of small denticles and several sparse and long, thick setae along the outer margin and short, dense bristles along the inner margin. Protibial surface delicately striolate. Protibial spur very short, appearing as a denticle. Protarsus simple, protarsomere 4 half the length of 5. Claws short. Mesofemur with sparse long setae. Mesotibia with long setae along outer margin and shorter ones along inner margin. Mesotarsus same as protarsus. Hind leg equivalent to middle leg. Male genitalia. Phallobase about ¼ of the aedeagus length. Aedeagus straight, curved in apical 1/3. Tip of aedeagus not widened, narrowly rounded with a pair of setae on parameres’ apex.

Diagnosis. The species most closely resembles C. punctatifrons sp. nov. by its bright and shiny cuticle and body shape. However, C. lucida differs by its significantly larger size, smooth rather than punctuate pronotal sides, sculpture of the subhumeral elytral sulcus, smooth metaventrite and shorter outer lateral metaventral stria.

Etymology. Adjective lucida (bright) refers to the light coloration of the cuticle.
