Species included: Dalicaris altus (Spence Bate, 1881) , comb. nov.

Type species: Benthesicymus altus Spence Bate, 1881 , by monotypy.

Etymology: After the artist Salvador Dalí and from Greek καρίς, shrimp; a reference to a characteristic petasma, which resembles paintings of this prominent Spanish surrealist.
