Echoma ( Echoma) clypeata (Panzer) View in CoL .
New Record. Trinidad: Cedros , I.1916, ex Quassia amara L. [ Simaroubaceae ], coll. F.W. Urich ( 1, AMNH); Carapichaima, 16.IX.1925, coll. F.W. Urich ( 1, AMNH); Port of Spain, 17.I.1967, coll. E.N.K.J. Waering ( 1, FSCA). This is the first Caribbean record for the genus. The plant record is the first for this species however this should be confirmed since the plant family, Simaroubaceae , is a new unusual host family for cassidines. Host data are recorded for only two of the 12 species in this genus and these feed on Mikania spp. ( Asteraceae ) ( Windsor et al. 1995; Borowiec 1999).
