Discussion A relatively large otolith for a Gobiosoma species of 1.3 mm length. It resembles G. emberae in shape but has a sharper preventral projection and a more forward positioned postdorsal angle. Tis otolith likely pertains to an extant species that may have derived from such a Late Miocene form like G. emberae .
