Distribution. India: Sikkim (Hampson 1905). Global: Bhutan, Nepal, Tibet, Turkestan, Uzbekistan ( Staudinger 1888, Alphéraky 1892, Hampson 1905, Püngeler 1906, Yoshimoto 1995).
Remark: Worldwide two subspecies, H. e. extrita distributed in Sikkim, Tibet and Middle East, and H. e. glacialis ( Boursin, 1964) distributed in Nepal.
