Type locality: Saint Thomas, West Indies
Type host: unknown
Current status: a synonym of Rhipicephalus annulatus in Guglielmone & Nava (2014).
Comments: Rhipicephalus annulatus is not found in the West Indies, and the above name should be confirmed as a synonym of Rhipicephalus annulatus through inspection of the syntypes of Haemaphysalis rosea .
