Description. Female morphology: Wingspan 100 mm, forewing length 51 mm. Eye black. Antenna brown. Frons brown-grey. Vertex brown-grey. Labial palpus long (its length approximately 1.5 of eye diameter), black dorsally, grey-creamy ventrally, its apical part grey-brown. Thorax grey-brown dorsally, grey-creamy ventrally. Legs brown, inner surface white-creamy. Patagium and tegula grey-brown with black band. Upperside of forewing: ground colour grey-brown with brown and irregular black-grey spots; central cell with white spot contrasting with ground colour of wing; basal line black-brown, strongly curved; antemedial band reduced to black spot and absent beyond central cell; medial band wide and black from costal margin to М 2, and narrow, indistinct and brown from М 2 to anal margin; postmedial stripe divided into separated, diffuse, black-brown and brown spots; apical stripe wide, black-brown; medial and postmedial areas with two bold and black lines (first one between М 3 и Cu 1 and second one between Cu 1 и Cu 2); fringe of forewing with bicolour scales (white-creamy and grey-brown). Underside of forewing grey-brown. Upperside of hindwing dark brown, anal margin grey. Underside of hindwing grey-brown, basal part and area between 3А and 2А light grey-creamy, anal margin dark grey. Abdomen brown-grey dorsally, white-creamy ventrally, with one dorsal and two lateral (one from each side) dark brown lines. Female genitalia: Papilla analis medium-sized, its surface covered with elongated follicles with hairs. Apophysis posterioris long, moderately sclerotised. Apophysis anterioris medium-long, well-sclerotised, with curved basal part. Antrum elongated, well-sclerotised. Ductus bursae very long. Corpus bursae strongly elongated, ovoid. Defined border between ductus bursae and corpus bursae absent. Signum large, drop-shaped, bearing multiple denticles. Comment on male morphology: Wingspan 86–93 mm, forewing length 45–47 mm (n = 7). Harpe has toothed margins (it is barely visible in the figures provided in Eitschberger’s work (2003)).
