Type depositories: USNTC: holotype (female) and paratypes (females and larvae); BM and RBINS: paratypes (females and larvae)

Type locality: Ulu Gombak , 27 km north of Kuala Lumpur , Forest Reserve , Selangor, Malaysia

Type host: Cheiromeles torquator

Current status: a synonym of Ixodes kopsteini , as discussed in Kohls & Clifford (1968).
