Type locality: South America ? [sic]

Type host: not stated

Current status: a nomen dubium ( Fairchild et al. 1966, Guglielmone & Nava 2014), but treated as valid, under the name Amblyomma perpunctatum in Santos Dias (1961) and Camicas et al. (1998); type comparison should prove useful in settling this difference ( Guglielmone et al. 2021).

Comments: the MCZ website notes that the vial label bears the statement “appears to be = Amblyomma geayi ” (http://mczbase.mcz.harvard.edu accessed 2 July 2022).
