Type depository: IP: holotype (nymph)

Type locality: India

Type host: red squirrel

Current status: a synonym of Ixodes petauristae , as stated in Sénevet (1970).

Comments: the holotype was originally classified as Ixodes holocyclus collected in India by Neumann (1899) ( Sénevet 1969).
