Sparsely pubescent; leaflets 5-30 mm wide, oblong, elliptical or ovate-elliptical; lower calyx-teeth | as long to as long as the tube, the lateral teeth triangular. 2n = 14. C. & S. W. Alps, Pyrenees, N. Spain.

The populations in C. Europe are often intermediate between the two subspecies.
