Type :— MYANMAR. Northeast Upper Burma, Hpimaw Pass , in light glades of bamboo, elev. ca. 3000 m, 13 June 1919, R. Farrer 1031 (lectotype here designated E00394032 ; isolectotypes K000900821 , E00846286 ). Remaining syntypes:— MYANMAR. Northeast Upper Burma, Hpimaw Pass , in light glades of Bamboo, elev. ca. 3000 m, R. Farrer 998 ( K000900822 , K000900823 ) ; Upper Burma, Ridge of Naung-Chaung-Nwai Divide , in shade of bamboo brake, or in more open situations amongst dwarf bamboo, elev. 3300–3500m, July 1914, F. Kingdon–Ward 1686 ( E00846294 ) , F. Kingdon–Ward 1809 ( E00846287 , E00846297 ) , F. Kingdon–Ward 1810 ( E00846296 ) .

Eponymy: —The epithet commemorates the English botanist Robert Sealy for his momentous contribution on the genus Nomocharis ( Sealy 1983) .

Notes:— When transferring Nomocharis farreri (W.E.Evans) Harrow (1928: 76) to Lilium , although we mistakenly cited the authorship as ‘(Harrow ex W.E.Evans) Y.D.Gao’, it was a correctable validly published name as Lilium farreri (W.E.Evans) Y.D.Gao following Art. 41.6 of ICN ( Turland et al. 2018). The basionym Nomocharis pardanthina var. farreri W.E. Evans (1925: 20) was based on syntypes, the ‘holotype’ cited in Gao & Gao (2016) was also incorrect. And here we choose one of the syntypes (E00394032) as lectotype.
