Diagnosis. The species has two clearly differing color forms: the dark 'nominate' ( Figs. 1, 2 View FIGURES 1 – 6 ) and the pale one ( Figs. 3, 4 View FIGURES 1 – 6 ). The first one has slightly darker wing coloration and much broader and more diffuse pattern elements. Nevertheless, in the genitalia ( Figs. 7, 8 View FIGURES 7 – 9 , 10, 11 View FIGURES 10 – 12 ) there are no any significant differences, so they undoubtedly belong to the same species. The distinguishing differences of B. kishidai from the second species of the genus, B. ocellata ( Hampson, 1907) , comb. nov. are given in the diagnosis of the latter, below.

Distribution. South India ( Kerala, Tamil Nadu).
