Oxypoda ( Deropoda) bimaculata BAUDI DI SELVE 1870 View in CoL

Oxypoda bimaculata BAUDI DI SELVE 1870: 377 View in CoL . Oxypoda ( Oxypoda) corcyrica SCHEERPELTZ 1958: 425 ff.; syn.n. Type material examined: Holotype ♀: ♀ / Ipsos, 16.IV.1932 / Insel Korfu, Dr. M. Beier leg. / Ipsos 16.IV.32 / ex coll. Scheerpeltz / Typus Oxypoda corcyrica O. Scheerpeltz / Oxypoda bimaculata Baudi View in CoL det. V. Assing 2005 (NHMW). Additional material examined: Greece: 2 exs., Cyclades, Páros, 2-14.V.1994, leg. Glück & Steinmetz

(cAss). Cyprus: 2 exs., Neo Chorion, 19.III.1994, leg. Meybohm (cAss) ; 2 exs., Olympos, N-

Slope, 1900 m, 1.IV.1995, leg. Assing, Wunderle (cAss, cWun).

C o m m e n t s: The original description of Oxypoda corcyrica is explicitly based on a female holotype from "Ipsos auf der Insel Korfu" ( SCHEERPELTZ 1958), not from Levkás, as indicated by LÖBL & SCHEERPELTZ (2004); that of O. bimaculata is based on two syntypes from Cyprus ( BAUDI DI SELVE 1870). An examination of the holotype of O. corcyrica revealed that it is conspecific with O. bimaculata , which is widespread in the Eastern Mediterranean. Material of this species was seen from Cyprus, Greece (see above), and from Turkey ( ASSING 2004c, in press).
