Discussion Te Cubagua FM of Venezuela has yielded a number of small gobiid otoliths not exceeding 0.9 mm in length that appear to represent a species of Palatogobius . In the light the Early Pliocene age and the fact that otoliths of two very small extant Palatogobius living in the Caribbean are not known, these otoliths are here referred to in open nomenclature.
