This is an endemic species from SE Costa Rica ( Fig. 3 View FIG ), the distribution of which seems to be restricted to the “Fila Costeña Sur” in lower montane rain forest at 1400–1600 m. Because of deforestation its habitat seems shrinking ( Debouck et al. 2018).
