HT: ♂ Mexico, Chihuahua, Sierra Madre, Hd. R. Piedras Verdes, abt. 7300 ft. [ 2225 m], 3.VII (no year), Townsend, “Pres. by E. Brunetti, B.M. 1927–184.” USNM ( Orth 1991: 675). Lost.
Note: According to Orth (1991), the holotype was deposited in USNM. However, a thorough search in USNM in October 2022 by WLM yielded no specimen, not even an empty type tray indicating that a specimen had been in USNM, and he found no specimens in USNM general collection. Lectotype designation needed.
PT: ♂ Mexico, Durango, Navíos [= Navíos Viejos], 26 mi E of El Salto, elev. 8000 ft. [ 2438 m], 27.VII.1964, J.F. McAlpine, holding collection not specified by Orth (1991: 675)
