Philonthus coprophilus View in CoL ( Staphylinidae, Abb. 32)
ist von Nordafrika und Grossbritannien bis Westsibirien verbreitet und aus fast ganz Europa bekannt, in Mitteleuropa aber sehr selten (SCHILLHAMMER 2011: 440). Aus Deutschland liegen nach BLEICH et al. (2019) nur wenige, weit verstreute Funde vor. HOFMANN (2019) zufolge ist P. coprophilus aus Hessen bislang unbekannt. Die koprophil-phytodetritikole Art lebt räuberisch an Dung und Faulstoffen (KOCH 1989a: 304, SCHILLHAMMER 2011: 440) und wurde zusammen mit P. alpinus auf der Rinderweide im Nordosten des Haimbergs in Rinderdung nachgewiesen.
