Type depository: ZSH: syntypes (a male and a female)

Comments: Neumann (1899) described Rhipicephalus paulopunctatus from a male and a female specimen. Anastos (1950) stated that the types were lost, but Walker et al. (2000) recorded the presence of the male of Rhipicephalus paulopunctatus in the ZSH, calling it the “ holotype,” despite the fact that Neumann (1899) did not designate type names for the two specimens used in his description.
