Type locality: United Arab Emirates, 7 km N of Fujairah, 25˚13΄N 56˚21΄E, 1 m.
Material examined. 3 ♂♂, 2 ♀♀: Hormozgân Prov. : 1 ♀, Gheshm, Dargahân , 27, 28.ii.1999, Ghayurfar, Manzari leg. / 1 ♂, Larak Isl. , 6.iii.1999, Ghayurfar, Manzari leg. (gen. prep. HA-2020, HMIM) / 2 ♂♂, Pârsiân- Asaluyeh Rd., nr. Bandoo vill. (km 20), N 27˚17΄48˝, E 52˚53΄32˝, 30 m, 8.xi.2021, Âlipanâh, Falsafi leg./ 1 ♀, Minâb, Kolâhi protected mangrove swamps, N 27˚02΄45.7˝, E 56˚51΄56.4˝, 0 m, 11.xi.2022, Âlipanâh, Falsafi, Mofidi-Neyestânak leg.
Distribution. United Arab Emirates ( Asselbergs 2008), Iran (new record).
Remarks. Length of the forewing in the examined males 8.9–11.5 mm (x = 10.3 mm ± 1.31; n = 3) and in the females 8.9–9.0 mm (x = 8.95 mm ± 0.07; n = 2). In the dissected male, the gnathos is finger-shaped with a more or less blunt tip ( Fig. 5G, H View FIGURE 5 ), instead of pointed as stated by Asselbergs (2008). As in the illustration presented by Asselbergs (2010), the ventro-medially directed spines at the base of the gnathos of the examined male consist of a pair of large spines and numerous smaller ones adjacent to the large ones on each side ( Fig. 5G, H View FIGURE 5 ).
This species is newly reported for the fauna of Iran.
