Scopaeus (Hyposcopaeus) portai lusitanicus Coiffait, 1968

Frisch (1997a) synonymized S. portai lusitanicus , described by Coiffait (1968) from Beja, Castro Verde, 07/1961, 1 ♂ (Holotype) ( cMHNG), and added the following districts : Castelo Branco, Faro, Leiria, Lisboa, Seṫbal ( cNHML and cMHNG) , Viana do Castelo ( cMHNG) , Vila Real ( cNHML and cMHNG). Drugman & Outerelo (1997) repeated the record from Castro Verde of S. portai lusitanicus . Gamarra & Outerelo (2020) reported this species from Minho, Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro , Beira Alta , Beira Litoral , Beira Baixa , Estremadura and Algarve .

Distribution: Known from France, Grecia, Italia, Portugal, Spain, the Azorean archipelago, Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia (Sch̡lke & Smetana, 2015).

Frisch (1997b) described this species from Spain, 1 ♂ (Holotype) and Portugal, Castelo Branco, Manteigas, 1650 m, 16/04/1960, 1 ♂ (Paratype), leg. Besuchet ( cMHNG). Gamarra & Outerelo (2020) reported it from Beira Baixa .

Note: Manteigas is actually part of the district of Guarda (Beira Alta).

Distribution: Only known from Portugal and Spain (Sch̡lke & Smetana, 2015).
