Range: — Venezuela; Peru and Bolivia (CO, LP).
Ecology: —Rare; humid forests; 600–1700 m.
Notes: —Resembles the much commoner S. flexuosa but is larger; lateral leaves on main stems 3.5–4.5 mm ( vs. 0.5–2.5 mm) long, more closely spaced.
