( trichotypa Abercrombie, 1970 ; unavailable name)
( trichotypa Mello & Bredt, 1978a: 212 ; nomen nudum)
Note 1: Abercrombie 1970 used the unavailable name “ trichotypa " in his study. Mello & Bredt’s use of the name trichotypa in their paper (1978a: 212) is a nomen nudum. Freidberg et al. 1991 made trichotypa available in their description of the new species.

Note 2: Mello & Bredt 1978a recorded S. trichotypa from Morretes-Canoas, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Freidberg et al. 1991 mistakenly placed Morretes-Canoas in Paraná. There are many other records of this species from Paraná. Sepedonea trichotypa has been collected in Villa Elisa, Entre Ríos, Argentina. Freidberg et al. 1991 erroneously reported that Villa Elisa is in the province of Buenos Aires. There are other records of this species from Buenos Aires.
