Measurement. Body length: male (N=1) (incl. tegmen): 7.0 mm (except tegmen: 3.1 mm), length of tegmen: 5.9 mm.

Coloration. Body brown. Vertex with lateral marginal carinae yellow and disc dark brown (Fig. 56). Frons with lateral marginal carinae yellow, in lateral view, genae each with a longitudinal dark brown in front of eyes in apical part. Postclypeus dark brown, with longitudinal median carina yellow and terminals of longitudinal lateral carinae yellowish (Fig. 57). Rostrum yellowish, with apical segment black (Fig. 58). Eyes blackish brown; ocelli yellow. Antennae yellow (Figs 56–58). Pronotum dark brown, with a transverse yellow streak at middle and two indistinct yellow streaks on each lateral part, margins and median carina white (Figs 56–58). Mesonotum brown to dark brown, lateral parts darker, with longitudinal median carina and lateral carinae yellow, scutellum with posterior margin yellow (Fig. 56). Right tegmen: off-white and semitransparent, with three transverse dark brown bands, first band at connection of Pcu and A 1 level not extending to posterior margin, second one at apex of clavus level oblique, third one at first r-m level, irregular dark brown markings in apical quarter, costal cell with tiger stripes, jugal margin with a dark brown marking, veins yellow to dark brown (Fig. 63). Left tegmen with an additional transverse dark brown band at basal two fifths (Fig. 62). Wings off-white and semitransparent, with a triangular dark brown stripe at base and brown markings in apical quarter, brown stripes along veinlets and transverse branches of veins, veins yellow to dark brown (Fig. 61). Coxae of fore legs black at base, rest yellowish (Fig. 58). Abdomen dark brown, with three rows of small yellow spots on tergite V to VII. Anal tube of male yellowish brown, and dark brown at apex; gonostyli dark brown (Figs 56, 58).

Structure. Head and thorax. Vertex about 1.6 times longer in midline than width of base (Fig. 56). Frons with lateral marginal carinae contiguous (Fig. 57). Antennae with pedicel about 2.7 times longer than widest part and shorter than frons (Figs 56–58). Mesonotum about eight times longer than pronotum in midline, disc raised apparently and posterior part flat, with a distinct median longitudinal carina and two lateral longitudinal carinae (Fig. 56). Right tegmen: narrow and elongated, exceeding three times longer than widest part; ScP+RA separating from RP about middle of tegmen; CuA forked about at same level of MP 1+2 forking and basal third of tegmen, CuA 1 fused with CuA 2 near apex to form a common stem and then extending to posterior margin, cell 5 present and small (Fig. 63). Left tegmen: compared to right, with an additional branch of MP, CuAsimple, cell 5 absent, other features same as on right (Fig. 62). Wings with MP three-branched, CuA two-branched (Fig. 61). Left metatibiotarsal formula: 5-7-7 (Fig. 59); right metatibiotarsal formula: 4-7-6 (Fig. 60).

Male terminalia. Anal tube narrow and long, slightly groove, in dorsal view, subrectangular, sharply constricted to round angular at apex, with anal stylus before middle, epiproct wide and nearly oval, paraproct long and oval (Fig. 65), in lateral view, widest basally, narrow and subtriangular in apical quarter, dorsal margin convex dorsad at basal quarter, dorsolateral margin slightly elevated from basal third to subapical part and angular dorsad about at apical quarter (Figs 64, 67). Pygofer narrow and long, in lateral view, widest ventrally, anterior margin slightly concave at dorsal quarter, posterior margin notched cephalad at ventral quarter (Fig. 67), in ventral view, venter wide rectangular, with anterior and posterior margins straight, hirsutiusculus (Fig. 68). Gonostylus narrow and long, slightly curved, in dorsal view, hook-shaped, broadened basally and incurved apically (Fig. 65); in lateral view, bifurcated apically into two processes, one of which large and triangular on dorsal side, pointed at apex and slightly curved, other one underneath small, round and gourd-shaped, protruded caudad; with a large internal auricular process inside near dorsal base, densely covered long setae on surface, in addition, with a small hook-like pointed process at subapical part of it and directed cephalad (Figs 64, 69). Phallic complex moderately short and stout in appearance, with basal two thirds relatively narrow and apical third distinctly swollen, in dorsal view, periandrium slightly arched near middle on left side (Figs 70, 78); in left view, periandrium shallowly concave in middle of dorsal margin and protruded angularly downward near base of ventral margin (Figs 71, 79); with five processes, from base to apex: 1) a short and acute process (P 1) directed caudad at middle on left; 2) a large and elongate process (P 2) arising near apical part, broad and scalloped at base, curved near basal third and directed cephalad, distinctly constricted near apical third and roundly finger shaped at apex, extending forward to basal third of phallic complex; 3) a small and short pointed process (P 3) directed caudad near base of P 2 at apex; 4) a large and elongate process (P 4) directed dorsocephalad on right side of P 3, broad at base and gradually tapered distad, deflexed near middle; 5) a long and acute process (P 5) directed dorsad at middle part of apex (Figs 66, 70–72, 78, 79).

Type material. Holotype: ♂ ( NWAFU), Mengla , Yunnan Province, China, 16 May. 1991, coll. Wang Yinglun, Cai Wanzhi.

Etymology. The specific epithet refers to the collection site “Mengla”.

Remarks. This species is similar to S. trizona , sp. nov. and S. paratrizona , sp. nov. in the markings on tegmina, but is significantly different from S. trizona , sp. nov. and S. paratrizona , sp. nov. by its unique phallic characteristics and the presence of three branches of MP on its wings.
