5. Simulium ( Gomphostilbia) izuae Takaoka, Sofian-Azirun & Hashim, 2013
Simulium ( Gomphostilbia) izuae Takaoka et al., 2013a: 1179 –1189 (Female, male, pupa and larva).
This species was described from females, males, pupae and larvae ( Takaoka et al., 2013a). It is characterized in the pupa by the ventral paired filaments with a short stalk shorter than the common basal stalk.
The aquatic stages were collected from small streams at low to high elevations ( 159–1,405 m) in Cameron Highlands (Ya’cob et al., 2016b).
