The only previous record of S. lundstromi in Algeria is from the Tlemcen Mountains ( Gagneur & Clergue-Gazeau 1988). We report this species for the first time in northeastern Algeria, albeit from a single locality and a single date (April). The stream was 6 m wide, with submerged aquatic vegetation and clear, slightly alkaline ( pH 7.9) and mineralized water (6.7 µS/cm) flowing slowly ( 0.2 m /s).
