Discussion. This species is based on a fragmentary internal cast from Rengetsweiler in Germany. Even Quenstedt (1881: 266) emphasized that the specimen is unidentifiable but nevertheless he introduced a new name for it. We place it in Sinum , because Sigaretus Lamarck, 1799 is an objective junior synonym of Sinum .

Distribution in Central Paratethys. Eggenburgian (Early Miocene): North Alpine Foreland Basin: Rengetsweiler ( Germany).
