Genus Teodorites Baraboshkin & Mikhailova, 2006
A Teodoritidae family was established by Mikhailova & Baraboshkin, 2009 on the basis of Teodorites theodori Baraboshkin & Mikhailova, 2006 , a monomorph genus that originated from the recoiling of a Crioceratitidae ancestor, according to the authors. However, the genus Teodorites appears to be closely related to the genus Haroella , which first occurrence dates to the upper A. radiatus Zone , at the same time as the first appearance of the Crioceratitidae . If proven, such a kinship would cast doubt on the origin of Teodorites from the Crioceratitidae as well as the use of a Teodoritidae family. Following this hypothesis, the Teodoritidae family is not used here. Te origin of Teodorites Baraboshkin & Mikhailova, 2006 is more likely to be found in the Neocomitidae , in agreement with Bert et al., (2020), and possibly in the Neocomitinae although this hypothesis remains to be demonstrated.
