Glabrous perennial 40-150 cm, with a short stock. Leaves 2- to 3-ternate, with stipels; leaflets obovate-cuneate, dentate. Panicle much-branched, corymbose. Flowers usually numerous, erect. Filaments as wide as anthers, lilac or whitish. Achenes c. 7 mm, long-pedicelled, pendulous, with 3 winged angles; beak short, appressed. 2n = 14. E. & C.
