Trichachne recalva View in CoL Nees, Fl. Bras. Enum. Pl. 2: 88. 1829. Panicum recalvum (Nees) Kunth, Révis. Gramin. 1: 39. 1829. — TYPE: BRAZIL. Habitat in ripa fluminis S. Francisci ad Joazerio, alt. 1,016 ped., provinciae Bahiensis, floret Aprili, K. Martius s. n. (holotype: M).

Iconography — Henrard (1950: 381, spikelet and upper floret); Vega and Rúgolo de Agrasar (2012: 299).

Geographical Distribution and Ecology — Caribbean, Venezuela, French Guiana, Guyana, Surinam, Brazil, Bolivia, Paraguay, and Argentina. It is frequent in river and streams shores, and within riparian groves from sea level to 800 m.
