NOTE TAXONOMIQUE

Berazaín Iturralde (2006) met cette espèce en synonymie avec Ouratea cubensis Urb. dont les feuilles possèdent une nervation secondaire réticulée et imprimée, contrairement à celle de Ouratea nitida non réticulée et saillante.
