Perennial 30-100 cm; usually dioecious. Leaves 2-10 cm, ovate-acuminate, cuneate or truncate at base, serrate; petiole not more than | as long as lamina; stipules 4 at each node. Racemes unisexual; female not more than 2 cm, shorter than the subtending petiole, patent or pendent in fruit; male 2-8 cm, erecto-patent. Female flowers with subglabrous perianth-segments. • Sicilia. Si.
