Type material. Holotype ♂ ( ZMUT): MOROCCO: Al Haouz Prov . : Oukaïmeden, High Atlas, 31°10'25.1"N, 7°50'40.0"W, 2900 m, 29.IV–11.V.2024 (leg. C. Reuter). GoogleMaps
Etymology. This species is named after Christoph Reuter ( Berlin, Germany), who collected the type material.
Diagnosis. The male of the new species is very similar to that of Zelotes aeneus (Simon, 1878) in having a similar embolus, anterior tegular process ( At), and a long tibial apophysis, but differs by possessing a straight anterior tegular process lacking a tooth ( vs. slightly rounded and bearing a small tooth) (cf. Fig. 11A, C View FIGURE 11 and Muster & Thaler 2000: fig. 3).
Description. Male ( holotype). Habitus as in Fig. 2A View FIGURE 2 . Total length 7.95. Carapace 3.4 long, 2.55 wide. Carapace, sternum, labium and maxillae dark chocolate brown; chelicerae dark reddish brown, with 4(5) pro- and 2(4) retromarginal teeth. Palps light brown; legs dark chocolate brown with faint light markings, distal segments lighter. Abdomen grey, with light brown trapezoid scutum, covering approximately 1/3 of dorsal surface. Spinnerets dark grey. Measurements of palp and legs: palp: 3.1 (1.2, 0.55, 0.35, -, 1.0), I: 9.1 (2.5, 1.55, 1.95, 1.7, 1.4), II: 7.35 (2.05, 1.25, 1.45, 1.35, 1.25), III: 6.4 (1.8, 0.95, 1.2, 1.45, 1.0), IV: 10.15 (2.6, 1.5, 2.0, 2.8, 1.25).
Palp as in Fig. 11A–F View FIGURE 11 ; tibia with long apophysis, almost as long as tibia; cymbium 2× longer than wide, with one antero-prolateral spine; bulb ~2× longer than wide; sperm duct looping 180° prolaterally; tegular apophysis ( Ta) digitiform; anterior tegular process ( At) straight and lacking teeth, tip slightly belt anteriorly; paraembolic membrane ( Me; ‘conductor’) large; embolus ( Em) almost straight.
